Moreover, in accordance with Canadian disclosure requirements, the Corporation has determined and disclosed estimated future net revenue from its reserves using forecast prices and escalating costs, whereas the U.S. Standards generally require that reserves estimates be prepared using an unweighted average of the closing prices for the applicable commodity on the first day of each of the twelve months preceding the company’s fiscal year-end, with the option of also disclosing reserves estimates based upon future or other prices and constant costs.

The Corporation has adopted the standard of six thousand cubic feet of natural gas to one barrel of oil when converting natural gas to barrels of oil equivalent (“BOE”). BOEs may be misleading, particularly if used in isolation. The foregoing conversion ratios are based on an energy equivalency conversion method

primarily applicable at the burner tip and do not represent a value equivalency at the wellhead. Given that the value ratio based on the current price of crude oil as compared to natural gas is significantly different from the energy equivalency of six to one, utilizing a conversion on a six to one basis may be misleading as an indication of value.

ENERPLUS CORPORATION

Enerplus is a North American energy producer with a diversified portfolio of crude oil and natural gas assets.
