Vicor–Cerebras Relationship: Power Architecture and Revenue Exposure
Bottom line
Cerebras is almost certainly Vicor’s “lead computing customer” for
Vertical Power Delivery (VPD). Vicor does not fabricate or package the Cerebras processor; it supplies the dense power-conversion architecture surrounding each wafer-scale engine (WSE). Exact component counts, pricing and Cerebras-derived revenue are not disclosed.
Supply chain and technology
Cerebras’s WSE wafers are fabricated by
TSMC;
ASE performs redistribution-layer processing; Cerebras performs final wafer packaging, assembly and testing in Sunnyvale. Specialized suppliers provide PCBs, cooling, I/O and power-delivery modules.
Vicor’s contribution is its
Factorized Power Architecture:
- Approximately 48 V is delivered near the processor.
- Regulation and voltage transformation/current multiplication are separated.
- PRM/MCD regulators work with VTM/MCM current multipliers positioned extremely close to the WSE.
- This supplies enormous sub-1 V current with lower distribution losses and less board area.
The earlier WSE-2 design used more than 300 distributed VRMs to deliver as much as approximately 20,000 A. This does
not establish 300 separately purchased Vicor modules; it illustrates the distributed nature of the wafer-scale power system.

Vicor said its lead wafer-scale customer was ramping Gen 4 through 2026 and would begin transitioning to Gen 5 in 2H26. Cerebras introduced CS-4 in August 2026 with power conversion only
0.5 mm from the processor and approximately
2× the delivered power. The architecture and timing make the mapping highly probable, but neither company has explicitly confirmed “CS-4 uses Vicor Gen-5.”
Vicor content should scale primarily
per WSE/backpack, not simply per rack. CS-4 has three wafer-scale power assemblies versus one in CS-3, implying materially greater content, though not necessarily exactly 3× because the architecture, performance and pricing changed.

Vicor did not disclose Cerebras revenue. An analyst asked whether Cerebras represented at least 10% of Q2 revenue; management declined to confirm. A 10% contribution would equal approximately
$14.3M, but this is a scenario—not a reported amount.
The $30.4M royalty result should not be attributed to Cerebras. It was affected by a new unnamed licensing agreement, while Cerebras appears to be a
product/module customer. An analyst also referenced an expectation that Cerebras could reach 25–30% of Vicor’s following-year revenue, but management did not endorse that estimate.
